Exciting News: Jilt Abandoned Cart app Acquired February 19 2015
We’ve acquired several WooCommerce extensions from other developers in the past SkyVerge, and these are usually made for a variety of reasons — for example, the developer no longer wants to do updates or support, is accepting a full-time job, or is moving in a different direction with the business.
We recently made a new acquisition that fits this bill, and we’re happy to announce that we’ve just brought the Jilt abandoned cart app into the SkyVerge family.
What is Jilt?
Jilt is a standalone abandoned cart app that currently integrates with Shopify. Yep, you read that right, not WooCommerce (don’t worry, we’re getting there).
Jilt monitors your store for abandoned carts and helps you recover these lost sales for you shop. You can set up 1 to 3 recovery emails to send on a custom schedule in order to save these sales in your eCommerce shop. Customers will be prompted to recover the cart and the recovery link will let them complete the purchase if desired.
Jilt includes its own analytics to show you how many recovery emails are opened, which converted, and how many recovered sales were made (including the value of those sales). These analytics can all be viewed from your Jilt dashboard.
Why we acquired Jilt
Jilt and its Shopify integration were closed when it ran into some technical issues that we’re already at work solving. Our team will be patching Jilt up in the short term to bring it back online and to continue building out the app and features.
Jilt has great bones that we’re working on mending and we’ll continue to flesh out the app to provide a top-notched abandoned cart solution.
Jilt: Future Plans
Our immediate plan is to bring Jilt back online following patches and a more detailed code audit. As with all plugins and apps we build, Jilt will be subject to the full SkyVerge treatment so that it’s up to our high standards in terms of quality and performance. We love nothing more than overengineering ;) .
Once the app is patched up, we’ll be building a Jilt integration with WooCommerce. As our team had made significant contributions to the WooCommerce REST API, we’re in a fantastic position to leverage the full power of the API to bring you a seamless, high-powered WooCommerce abandoned cart app. We already have some plans in place we’re very excited about to make this a full-featured integration that’s super-easy to set up and use.
We’ll also continue to build out Jilt’s capabilities. While Jilt already allows you to create HTML email templates, we’ll be expanding what these can do and what customer / cart information will be included in these emails.
We’ll add new tools to help you recover your abandoned carts, such as generated one-time use coupons to encourage customers to purchase. Analytics tools will be improved as well so that you can view the status of all emails (sent, cancelled, postponed, etc), view metrics on which emails converted and whether a coupon was used or not, and compare email campaigns to gain insights that will help you save more sales.
